Actual Implementation of a Spent Nuclear Fuel Repository: Seizing Opportunities

Sweden is at an important turning point, entering the phase of actual construction of the deep geological repository for spent nuclear fuel. The workshop programme, of particular interest for local stakeholders, covers the following themes:
- Visions of Oskarshamn and Östhammar municipalities
- The Swedish Nuclear Waste Management Programme: Looking back, looking forward
- Dialogue, information exchange and transparency in the new phase
- Achieving deep consultation through the EIA
- The Added Value Program and local economic development (including an invited presentation by Belgian stakeholders about the category A waste (cAt) programme)
A synthesis of the workshop will be available in early 2012.
