On 10 April 2006 the US Department of Energy (DOE) and the NEA signed an Arrangement for Co-operation in the Field of Nuclear Data and Computer Programs. Assistant Secretary for Nuclear Energy, Dennis Spurgeon, signed for the DOE and Director-General Luis Echávarri signed on behalf of the NEA.
The arrangement extends the exchange of nuclear data and computer programs pertinent to civilian nuclear science and technology initiated under the Co-operative Arrangement in the Field of Nuclear Data and Computer Programs signed on 16 December 1985. The new arrangement runs for five years, automatically renewable.
