Soil Structure Interaction (SSI) Knowledge and Effect on the Seismic Assessment of NPPs Structures and Components

Logistics and participation

Participants

As is usual for OECD/NEA workshops, participation is open to experts from regulatory authorities and their technical support organisations, research organisations, NPP owners and operators, NPP designers and vendors, and industry associations and observers from OECD NEA member countries. Nominations should be made through the NEA Secretariat of IAGE WG. Those wishing to make a presentation at the workshop should submit an abstract with their preliminary registration form.

The meeting is open to a number of experts from non-OECD member countries. The participation of these experts will be arranged by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Registration

Participants should complete the online registration form by 30 September 2010.

The Organising Committee will confirm the acceptance of registration for the workshop

Location and accommodation

The workshop will be held in the Ottawa Marriott Hotel and organised by the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission.

A set of rooms have been blocked at the preferential rate of US$149.00/night. Participants are advised to make their own reservation by calling 1-800-853-8463 (USA and Canada), or using Ottawa Marriott website to reserve their rooms, on or before 6 September 2010, using the reservation code is NUCNUCA (please use this link).

Please keep in mind that the cut-off date for these guestrooms is 6 September 2010. Reservations requested after 6 September will be accepted on a space available basis only, at the hotel’s published rate.

Language

All presentations and discussions will be in English, and good command of the English language will be necessary to fully benefit from the workshop.

Papers

Participants wishing to present papers shall submit an abstract (between 200 and 400 words). All abstracts should be submitted by 31 May 2010 with the registration form. (Note: All submitted abstracts and papers should be submitted electronically in MS Word and "Ttimes 11" font.)

The Technical Programme Committee will review abstracts, and authors will be notified by 25th June 2010. Specific instructions for the format of papers will be provided to authors. Presentations should not exceed 20 minutes.

Workshop proceedings

Proceedings from the workshop will be published, and will include papers from the opening session, conclusions and recommendations from the discussion groups, summary of panel discussions, and information papers submitted by participants to the workshop.
