In main JANIS window, menu "Database", select "Load..."
You obtain the JANIS "Load base" dialog :
In "Type:" drop down list select HTTP
In "Label:" field enter a name for this new connection, for example NEA
In "Enter URL:" field enter http://www.oecd-nea.org/JANIS/JanisServlet/
Validate the "Load base" dialog with "OK" button
In Databases tree you should see a new node with a question mark icon , and the label you have just entered in previously
This question mark indicates the connection is in progress, it should quickly be replaced by a green checkmark icon , indicating you are connected to the remote database
You can now browse NEA database content
How to restore connection to the DVD databases
ENDF and EXFOR database
In main JANIS window, menu "Database", select "Load..."
You obtain the JANIS "Load base" dialog :
In "Type:" drop down list select JDBC
In "Label:" field enter a name for this new connection, for example "DVD"
In "JDBC Driver" drop down list select Mckoi
Select Embedded
Click the "..." button on the right of field ".conf file" to browse your drives
With the "Select" dialog browse to your DVD drive or the location where you have copied the DVD content,
select the file named "db.conf" and validate the dialog. The file is in <JANIS DVD>\databases\JANIS\db.conf
In "User" field enter JANIS
In "Password" field enter also JANIS
Click the "..." button on the right of the "Root folder" field to browse your drives
With the dialog browse your drives to select the folder <JANIS DVD>\data
Validate the "Load base" dialog with "OK" button
In Databases tree you should see a new node with a question mark icon , and the label you have just entered in previously

You can now browse the new database

If you want to run JANIS from the DVD, without copying anything to your hard drive, lets say your DVD drive is J:

If you have copied the full DVD content on your hard drive, let say in D:\Janis2.1
The .conf file path is D:\Janis2.1\databases\JANIS\db.conf
the Root folder is D:\Janis2.1\data
CINDA database
In main JANIS window, menu "Database", select "Load..."
You obtain the JANIS "Load base" dialog :
In "Type:" drop down list select "CINDA"
In "Label:" field enter a name for this new connection, for example "DVD_Cinda"
In "JDBC Driver" drop down list select Mckoi
Select Embedded
Click the "..." button on the right of field ".conf file" to browse your drives
With the "Select" dialog browse to your DVD drive or the location where you have copied the DVD content,
select the file named "db.conf" and validate the dialog. The file is in <JANIS DVD>\databases\cinda\db.conf
In "User" field enter cinda
In "Password" field enter also cinda
Validate the "Load base" dialog with "OK" button
