JANIS databases (versions 2.0, 2.1, 2.2)

How to connect to the NEA remote database

  1. In main JANIS window, menu "Database", select "Load..."



    You obtain the JANIS "Load base" dialog :



  2. In "Type:" drop down list select HTTP
  3. In "Label:" field enter a name for this new connection, for example NEA
  4. In "Enter URL:" field enter http://www.oecd-nea.org/JANIS/JanisServlet/
  5. Validate the "Load base" dialog with "OK" button
  6. In Databases tree you should see a new node with a question mark icon , and the label you have just entered in previously
  7. This question mark indicates the connection is in progress, it should quickly be replaced by a green checkmark icon , indicating you are connected to the remote database
  8. You can now browse NEA database content

How to restore connection to the DVD databases

ENDF and EXFOR database

  1. In main JANIS window, menu "Database", select "Load..."



    You obtain the JANIS "Load base" dialog :



  2. In "Type:" drop down list select JDBC
  3. In "Label:" field enter a name for this new connection, for example "DVD"
  4. In "JDBC Driver" drop down list select Mckoi
  5. Select Embedded
  6. Click the "..." button on the right of field ".conf file" to browse your drives
  7. With the "Select" dialog browse to your DVD drive or the location where you have copied the DVD content, select the file named "db.conf" and validate the dialog. The file is in <JANIS DVD>\databases\JANIS\db.conf



  8. In "User" field enter JANIS
  9. In "Password" field enter also JANIS
  10. Click the "..." button on the right of the "Root folder" field to browse your drives
  11. With the dialog browse your drives to select the folder <JANIS DVD>\data



  12. Validate the "Load base" dialog with "OK" button
  13. In Databases tree you should see a new node with a question mark icon , and the label you have just entered in previously
  14. This question mark indicates the connection is in progress, it should quickly be replaced by a green checkmark icon , indicating you are connected to the DVD database
  15. You can now browse the new database

CINDA database

  2. In "Type:" drop down list select "CINDA"
  3. In "Label:" field enter a name for this new connection, for example "DVD_Cinda"
  4. In "JDBC Driver" drop down list select Mckoi
  5. Select Embedded
  6. Click the "..." button on the right of field ".conf file" to browse your drives
  7. With the "Select" dialog browse to your DVD drive or the location where you have copied the DVD content, select the file named "db.conf" and validate the dialog. The file is in <JANIS DVD>\databases\cinda\db.conf



  8. In "User" field enter cinda
  9. In "Password" field enter also cinda
  10. Validate the "Load base" dialog with "OK" button
  11. In Databases tree you should see a new node with a question mark icon , and the label you have just entered in previously
  12. This question mark indicates the connection is in progress, it should quickly be replaced by a green checkmark icon , indicating you are connected to the DVD database
  13. You can now do CINDA searches. Please note that unlike ENDF+EXFOR database you can't browse the CINDA database
