Thermochemical Database (TDB) project

The TDB mailing lists

If you are completely new to the concept of mailing lists, you may wish to read a small introduction in Query & Answer form, available here. There are two types of mailing lists in the TDB project: unrestricted and restricted. The unrestricted are for anyone to join, the restricted can only be subscribed to by members of TDB review groups and organisational units, such as the Executive Group.

Unrestricted TDB mailing lists

The following unrestricted TDB announcements mailing list is currently functional. If you wish to be notified immediately when something important happens in the TDB project (such as when new books are published), you can subscribe to the TDB announcements mailing list. To do this, send an e-mail to here . There are two types of mailing lists in the TDB project: unrestricted and restricted. Unrestricted TDB mailing lists

The following unrestricted mailing lists are currently functional:
  • The TDB announcements mailing list. If you wish to be notified immediately when something important happens in the TDB project (such as when new books are published), you can subscribe to the TDB announcements mailing list. To do this, send mail to tdb-announce-request@oecd-nea.org with the word "subscribe" in the subject line. This will add you to the distribution list of the tdb-announce mailing list, to which messages are sent by the NEA TDB project coordinator when something new happens. Since messages to this list will only be sent when something really major takes place, no more than around 5 messages per year are expected to be sent. Hence, you needn't fear being drowned by irrelevant messages if you join the list. To remove yourself from this mailing list, send an e-mail to tdb-announce-request@oecd-nea.org with the word "unsubscribe" in the subject line of the message.

Please note, that whereas anyone who wishes may join the distribution list for this mailing list, announcements can only be sent to this list by the NEA Project Coordinator. The idea is that anyone who wishes should be able to receive news about the project, but the news sent to the list will always come from the Project Coordinator. Past messages to the tdb-announce mailing list are archived here .

    Restricted TDB mailing lists

The restricted TDB project mailing lists, the addresses of which are listed in the web pages for the groups concerned, serve two purposes:
    1. To make it easy for members of e. g. a review group to send messages to everyone in the group. The distribution lists for the mailing lists are updated regularly by the TDB project coordinator at the NEA.
    2. To make available archives (including attachments) of all messages sent to the mailing lists. This may be useful for searching and browsing information sent previously, if messages in personal archives are deleted or lost for some reason, or a message sent never reached an addressee for some reason.
The mail addresses of the restricted lists are not given on the public TDB web pages, to avoid handing them to programs which scan the web for mail addresses to send unsolicited commercial mail to. These addresses are listed on the restricted web pages.

All mail sent to the restricted mailing lists is distributed to the e-mail addresses on the respective distribution lists immediately. Normally the distribution lists contain all members of a review group or organisational unit, as well as the NEA project coordinator. For the review groups, the list also includes the designated Executive Group liaison for the group. The messages are first archived inside the NEA firewall. All messages sent to the distribution list before 20:30 CET are then mirrored to the mailing list archives on the external TDB web pages 21:00 CET daily, where they can be read by group members. The mailing list archives have access restrictions. See the documentation on how to access restricted web pages for information about how this works.

Only members of the respective review groups or organisational units, such as the Executive Group, can send mail to the respective mailing lists. Messages from other e-mail addresses will be sent to the NEA project coordinator, but will not be distributed or archived.
